Abandoned Project Policy
1. Definition of Abandonment
A project is considered 'Abandoned' or 'Inactive' if the client fails to communicate, provide feedback, or deliver required assets for a significant period.
- Phase 1 Inactivity: No response for 30 consecutive days.
- Phase 2 Abandonment: No response for 60 consecutive days.
- Communication includes email, phone calls, and project management updates.
2. Consequences of Abandonment
Once a project is flagged as inactive or abandoned, specific actions will be taken to reallocate our resources.
- The project will be removed from our active development queue.
- Staging sites and temporary hosting environments will be suspended.
- All work completed up to that point remains billable, and no refunds will be issued.
3. Project Reactivation
Clients wishing to resume an abandoned project must submit a formal reactivation request.
- Reactivation Fee: A mandatory fee (typically 10-20% of project value) to cover rescheduling.
- New Timeline: A new project timeline will be issued based on our current availability.
- Updated Rates: If market rates or technology costs have increased, the project quote may be adjusted.
4. Final Termination & Archiving
Projects that remain abandoned for more than 180 days are subject to final termination.
Upon final termination, project files may be permanently archived or deleted. Retrieval from archives after this stage may incur significant data recovery fees.
