Hosting & Domain Policy
1. Renewal Responsibility
The client is primarily responsible for the timely renewal of domain names and hosting plans to prevent service interruption.
- Renewal notices are sent 30 days before expiry.
- Failure to renew within the grace period may result in domain loss or data deletion.
- Global IT Solutions is not liable for domains lost due to late client payments.
2. Third-Party Hosting Limitations
While we can deploy to third-party hosting providers (e.g., AWS, Bluehost, SiteGround), we do not control their infrastructure.
- We are not responsible for server-side downtimes or hardware failures.
- Technical support for third-party servers may incur additional fees.
- Security on third-party servers is the responsibility of the provider and the client.
3. Backup Responsibilities
Regular backups are essential for data integrity. We maintain backups for sites hosted on our managed servers, but clients should also keep local copies.
- Managed Hosting: Daily automated backups with 7-day retention.
- Unmanaged/Third-Party: Client is responsible for setting up and managing backups.
- We recommend full site downloads after any major update.
4. Data-Loss Disclaimer
While we take every precaution, Global IT Solutions is not liable for data loss caused by factors beyond our control.
We are not responsible for data loss resulting from hacking, server provider errors, expired accounts, or client-side deletions.
5. Domain & Site Transfers
Transferring a site or domain away from our management requires all outstanding invoices to be settled in full.
- Transfer assistance is billed at our standard hourly rate.
- EPP codes and file archives are provided within 5 business days of request.
- We are not responsible for site functionality after it leaves our managed environment.
